March 24

With the wind from the N/W and big tides today we went into Christchurch bay looking for early Bream but by lunch time all we had to show for our efforts were a number of dogfish so it was time for a move out to deeper water, after anchoring a gully on the back of the dolphin bank we soon started catching small conger eels with the best one going about 30lb.

The weather was sunny and calm, on a trip to an inshore wreck with a group from Esso in Southampton. Lots of fish including some decent sized undulate rays.

Top fish and personal best for Graham was a good sized conger of 54lb.

Summer has finaly arrived one of my last trips found us fishing a few different marks on the rips with a group of lads put together by Carl from Poingdestre's angling centre.
The catchAfter starting the day fishing for pollock, which produced a number of smallish fish, we dropped the anchor over slack and found that the tope and blond rays keen to take our baits. When the tide started to run we moved to the brittlestar's and rounded the day off with a dozen or so cod, a good day out with a great bunch of lads.

Pollock & BassBlond RayThe weather on the 21st was more like it should be at this time of year so we spent the first part of the day fishing a wreck south of the island with a group of anglers from Poingdestre's angling centre in Southampton the wreck produced a number of nice pollock and Bass, the afternoon found us anchored on a group of banks fishing for blond ray the best fish landed was a nice fish of 19lb 4oz for Mick.

A trip on the 20th saw us fishing a mark a few miles south of the Needles which produced this nice ray for Jon from the Isle of Wight.

18th July Our last trip saw us in Christchurch bay on a Bass and Bream trip with Allan's group from Southampton. After a couple of stops we managed to find some sizeable bream and a couple of nice Bass, withTom again taking the best fish which went 7lb 4oz.
